This project, funded by the Better Streets, Safer City sales tax initiative, aims to enhance NE 23rd Street from Kelly Avenue to Miramar Boulevard. Our goal is to create a safer, more vibrant corridor that benefits residents, businesses and visitors alike. Together, we can shape the future of NE 23rd Street.
Update 11/26/24
The NE 23rd Street Enhancement project is currently in the early stages of the design phase after several community engagement meetings took place in summer and fall of 2024. Several priorities were established at the community engagement meetings, including better street lighting, safer and wider sidewalks, trees/shade, culturally significant art and a recognizable commercial corridor. The engineering team is now tasked with designing a streetscape that can best meet these priorities within the physical and budgetary constraints.
