It’s important to make places where people attend city meetings or speak up about their community easy to get to by public transportation. Not everyone has a car, and some people might be too young, too old or have a disability that makes it hard to drive.

If public transportation goes to these places, more people can participate and share their ideas. That helps ensure everyone’s voice is heard, not just the people who can drive there.

How to Plan a Trip with EMBARK

Do you need to use the City’s bus system, EMBARK, to get to a community meeting, or do you know someone else who needs it? Here are some easy instructions to follow to plan your tip:

1. Go to the ‘Plan A Trip’ page on the EMBARK website.

2. Under the title of the page, ‘Plan A Trip’, is a box that says ‘Enter Origin’. Put in your starting address in this box.

3. Under that box is a another box that says ‘Enter Destination’. Put in the address of where you are wanting to travel to in this box.

4. Once you type in both addresses, it will bring up all possible routes that you can take to get to your destination. If you scroll down, you can see the departure times from your origin. Pick the one that works best for your schedule.

5. Once you have clicked on the arrow on the right-hand side, it will give you step-by-step directions on how to use the bus system to get to your destination, including the time and the cost.
