The Downtown Oklahoma City Strategic Plan is a long-range planning effort aimed at developing a strategic, implementable vision for Downtown and Bricktown to build a better future for downtown and its residents and visitors. The plan will guide land-use, public infrastructure, and private development decisions to ensure that thoughtful, contextual, and complementary development builds on the momentum of our city's vibrant, growing core.
The plan, led by the City's Planning Department, is a 10-month process that will create strategic actions on topics such as the fragmented urban fabric, connectivity and mobility challenges, open space opportunities, commercial redevelopment, downtown residential density and tourism.
The plan will build on what’s already worked and what’s already been planned, using key projects to get the most value for the community and make sure all parts of downtown are working together toward the best possible outcome.
Plan boundaries
The area under study is generally bounded by the Oklahoma River to the south, Western Avenue to the west, NW 13th Street to the north, and I-235 and I-35 to the east.
